My Tomb Raider pledge arrived on saturday. It came with a statue and it is big. Much bigger than that tiny Mech for Battletech Mercenaries.
Not sure why I got 2 of them. I think I wanted one as a painting project or I forgot one had been included already.
Either way … it is a cool thing that is begging for paint. And because I’ve got two I don’t have to be afraid of making mistakes.

I think that’s what I would call a “Cafe Racer Coffee Table Book” XD Nice pictures. Reminds me of all the model kits my late uncle had build. All classic 60 and 70 racing motor cycles.

I see GenCon have released their attendance data and they had their highest ever with 74,000 unique attendees (@209,000 total).  I was interested to see how this compares with the other big industry shows and it is getting up towards SPIEL Essen 220,000 total (@95,000 uniques).  Both are much bigger than UKGE 51,196 unique (@87,000 total) although SPIEL and GenCon are 4 day events and UKGE just 2 days.  It shows that board and card games really are the big draw.  Salute is the biggest show in wargaming and it had 7,400 attendees this year.

As has already been discussed there weren’t any blockbuster releases or much news of any sort out of GenCon, other than it raining inside the hall, but that doesn’t seem to be what is attracting people to go.

I think the “biggest” news was the D&D Warcraft and Star Wars announcement. And that also didn’t make that big of a splash overall.

Funnily enough I only saw the video today. And either they had a separate audio track at the end or the audience was silent during the Star Wars reveal.

@sundancer you are right, they cut the background sound track from the hall but there was absolutely no noise at all when it came back on.  It seems they might have crossed the streams with that one.

I’m sure Warcraft will be popular with the D&D crowd.  Not my thing, but each to their own.  I’m sure there are a lot more D&D players out there than there are tabletop wargamers 😀

UKGE is 3 days by the way. I only go on the Friday normally as it’s mostly shopping for me.
