Hard to tell what is the musical genre. House? Trance? Tech Trance? Balearic Trance? Progressive Trance? Country? (lol kidding for this one)
Games & Sources
The famous actor Patrick Stewart voiced Uriel Septim for the game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I used the king's speech in the begining of the game to make this electronic music remix. Jeremy Soule is the composer of the original version called Reign of the Septims.
The original source audio is actually used in this extensively. Sometimes straight-up and an occasional stutter at the end of a phrase. It was also sped up slightly and pitched up. During the 1st segment of Captain Picard speaking is the first time I noticed this. 0:17-0:25 from the source, shows up 1:32 in the submission. This gets used a few times repeating with a little stutter repeat at the end of each phrase. While that aspect of it is creative, the usage of source audio is dominant and could be considered not your own ideas. Later that same idea eventually this returns at 3:33 doing the same however this time buried underneath a large detuned supersaw.
I gotta give it to you, the source audio is weaved in very seamlessly and that is cool. However, there's a lot of source audio in this track and I have to caution you as to the usage of such. Places I identified source audio within the track. 0:31-2:02, 2:17-3:03, 3:33-4:19 (183 of 274, 4:34 track total for 66%). This is not a trivial amount of source audio present. There's nothing wrong with using some in your track, as a brief quote for example. But 66% of this track is straight up lifted from the game with occasional slicing.
In addition, 1:01-1:31 and 2:33-3:03; a full minute of this submission is reliance on voice-over rather than a musical focus in a 4:30 track.
There's a real lack of cohesion due to the mixed time signature usage between 6/8 and 4/4. This leads to awkward presentation of phrases not lining up with the background, and is the primary reason for my decision. If you were to take the melodic phrases and remade them to fit into your 4/4 background I could potentially flip my vote. The overall structure does work, and I can overlook the long voice-over segments as they technically are not dominant, but only a portion of the track (though still feeling like a lot).
