Delta launches SkyPicks interactive sports experience with DraftKings onboard flights
Delta has partnered with DraftKings to launch SkyPicks, a free-to-play sports prediction experience within Delta Sync that enables SkyMiles Members to engage with live sports content and compete for Delta Gift Cards during flights.
Summary:
Delta and DraftKings have launched SkyPicks, a new interactive sports experience designed to bring sports engagement into the inflight environment.
Available through Delta Sync, the airline’s connected onboard entertainment platform, SkyPicks allows eligible SkyMiles Members aged 21 and over to make sports prediction picks and compete for Delta Gift Cards. The free-to-play experience does not involve wagering, deposits, buy-ins, miles or financial risk.
The launch builds on Delta’s strategy of creating more personalised and engaging onboard experiences by connecting passengers with the content and activities they enjoy on the ground.
“For many of our customers, that includes sports. SkyPicks brings that passion onboard in a fun, free-to-play way, giving SkyMiles Members another way to engage with the games and conversations they love while they fly,” said Ranjan Goswami, Chief Marketing and Product Officer, Delta.
Sports content is already one of the highest-performing categories on Delta Sync, with customers able to watch live sports, stream games and access sports coverage during their journey. The addition of SkyPicks gives passengers a new way to actively participate rather than simply watch.
The experience launches with Major League Baseball contests, with National Football League matchups planned later in the year. Passengers can use their mobile device or laptop to make predictions linked to real sporting events, with top performers eligible to win Delta Gift Cards.
The launch follows Delta’s previously announced collaboration with DraftKings, unveiled at CES 2025, and represents a new approach to onboard entertainment by combining digital interaction with existing content offerings.
“At DraftKings, we believe interaction with sports shouldn’t begin and end with the game itself – it should extend to every moment fans care about,” said Jeremy Elbaum, Chief Commercial Officer at DraftKings. “Collaborating with Delta gives us the opportunity to reimagine what sports engagement can look like while travelling, bringing innovative ways for fans to stay connected to the games they love – even when they’re in the air.”
Delta has continued to expand its onboard entertainment ecosystem, with customers able to access live television on 85% of the airline’s fleet, alongside sports coverage, analysis and other digital content.
Through SkyPicks, Delta is extending the role of inflight entertainment from passive viewing towards more interactive and personalised passenger experiences.
