Revenue Rises for 11th Straight Quarter

CMTX posted its highest quarterly results since its founding in the second quarter, with sales of components used in semiconductor etching processes continuing to drive revenue growth for an 11th consecutive quarter.

CMTX said August 14 that it recorded revenue of 47.9 billion won and operating profit of 15.6 billion won in the second quarter. Revenue increased 18.6% from a year earlier, while operating profit rose 13.8%. Compared with the previous quarter, revenue increased 8.6% and operating profit rose 15.3%. The operating margin was 32.5%, down 1.4 percentage points from 33.9% a year earlier but up 1.9 percentage points from 30.6% in the previous quarter.

Sales of the company's main products, including silicon electrodes and rings used in semiconductor etching processes, increased. Supply to customers' advanced process lines also expanded. Internalizing materials sourcing by procuring raw silicon ingots through its subsidiary Selic contributed to profitability.

CMTX is also expanding production capacity. It plans to expand Plant B at the Gumi M Campus and begin full-scale operations early next year. Annual production capacity will increase to 400 billion won from the current 200 billion won. The company plans to broaden its product portfolio beyond silicon to semiconductor-process consumables based on a range of materials, including ceramics and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) silicon carbide (SiC).
