"Turbine Technology Mechanical Engineering Division" Limited Liability Company (a joint venture of Atomenergomash JSC and General Electric Company), for the purpose of performance of its obligations under the contract with Atomenergomash JSC - Rosatom Machine-Building Division, has awarded a contract to Alstom Power Systems (General Electric company) for the manufacture of main equipment packages of the steam turbine plant for the turbine hall of the planned four units of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (the Republic of Turkey). According to the contract, the equipment is to be supplied on an annual basis from 2021 to 2024, in line with the construction schedule of each unit.

"Turbine Technology Mechanical Engineering Division" Limited Liability Company was established in 2007 to provide turbine hall equipment integration services for Russian nuclear power plants. "The contract for the manufacture of turbine plant equipment and auxiliary systems for the Akkuyu nuclear power plant is a very important milestone in the JV development that strengthens long-term cooperation between AEM and GE performing as shareholders and partners in this strategic project," said Mr. Nikipelov, General Director of Atomenergomash.

Atomenergomash previously signed a contract for package supply of turbine hall equipment for the Turkish power plant. The range of products to be supplied includes turbine plants, pipeline valves, pumping, heat exchange and other equipment. The company is also a supplier of complete equipment packages for nuclear steam generating plants for all units of the power plant including reactor plants, pumping units, protection systems, pipelines, etc. For the implementation of both contracts, all major production sites of the Machine-Building Division will be involved.

The Akkuyu project consists of four power units equipped with Russian VVER-1200 reactor plants of the generation 3+ which comply with the most stringent safety standards. The electric output of each power plant unit will be 1200 MWe.
