Alexander Volkanovski has stressed that he deserved to win against Islam Makhachev at UFC 284.
Makhachev triumphed in Perth via a unanimous decision as he won 8-27, 28-27, 29-26.
Volkanovski's hopes of becoming a double champ were ruined, but he is eager for a rematch to take place.
Commenting on Twitter, after the fight, Volkanovski stated his belief that won rounds two, three and five.
Volkanovski tweeted: 'Just watched the fight, I definitely think I won [rounds] 2,3 and 5. Surprised I didn't get my hand raised! Let's do the rematch, anywhere, anytime!'

The defeat brought an end to Volkanovski's run of 22 fights without being beaten.
Reflecting on the fight, Volkankovski said: 'A lot of people will be happy with that because they didn't give me a chance but I gave myself a chance.
'I knew he was really good but that I'd prepared properly. It was a fun fight and maybe I could have capitalised on some positions a bit more. He didn't respect my wrestling and grappling but maybe I didn't respect his striking enough either!

'I'll be back at lightweight but for now congrats to Yair and now we build up a big featherweight fight.'
Makhachev said: 'You like or you don't like, I am best fighter in the world right now!
'It was a very good fight, many things happened before the fight but I needed a tough fight to improve. I thought it was going to be easy on the ground but this guy improved a lot. I want a real contender next.'
Volkanovski is eager for a rematch but Makhachev wants to face a 'real contender' next
Charles Oliveira praised Makhachev after the Russian defended his lightweight title.
Oliveira, the highest-ranked star in the lightweight division, went backstage to praise Makhachev and called over a translator so that he could be understood.
