Knicks fever is revealing itself across the city in many ways: from Homie’s Donuts, Black Tap’s CRAZYSHAKE and Diamond Slice’s buffalo chicken pie to Knicks-inspired nail art, Legasea’s basketball-covered strawberry shortcake and Zabar’s black and white cookies — now orange and blue.

Utopia Bagels is also getting in on the Knicks momentum.

“Here, we got some of the Knick bagels,” said Scott Spellman, the co-owner.

Their bagels are hand-rolled and kettle boiled, before being baked in a 1947 carousel oven.

“The old-fashioned way,” Spellman, who’s been a Knicks fan all his life, likes to say.

Thankfully, the oven is more vintage than a Knicks championship win.

“Those [bagels] have to go around once, and then we’re gonna flip ‘em,” he said.

Utopia Bagels, with locations in Whitestone, Long Island City, Murray Hill and Midtown, was founded approximately 45 years ago. That means that the Knicks’ 53-year championship drought is older than the bagel shop.

“The New York Knicks getting into the championship has really inspired the whole city. And I think these bagels throughout the city is really an inspiration for everybody throughout the day,” he said.

Spellman believes a perfect Knicks bagel starts with vibrant colors to represent the team he loves.

“With blue, orange, we add a little bit of purple into the blue to darken that blue color for the New York Knicks color,” he said. “And we also use a white, because a true New York Knick bagel has some white in it.”

Spellman believes this Knicks team is bringing the heat on the court.

“Hot and fresh, New York Knick bagels,” he said.

His bagels, he hopes, bring inspiration to Knicks fans. Utopia Bagels also created the JB, named after Knicks’ captain and the ultimate closer for the team, Jalen Brunson.

The sandwich includes hash browns, eggs and cheese with chipotle mayo.

“They’re gonna bring that championship home,” said Spellman.

Utopia Bagels said the Knicks bagels are selling out in every store.
