MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Myanmar expects to expand cooperation with Belarus in many areas, President Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar said during the restricted meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 21 August, BelTA has learned.

First of all, the distinguished guest expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Belarusian head of state for the warm welcome and the informal meeting that preceded the official talks. “You always display a warm attitude, which is a great honor for me,” Min Aung Hlaing said.

He noted that the Myanmar delegation accompanying him comprised not only representatives of government agencies but also members of the business community. Concurrently, the Belarus-Myanmar Business Forum took place in Minsk. The president of Myanmar expressed confidence that these initiatives allow for a more thorough exploration of Belarus’ potential, technologies, and products, thereby developing trade between the two countries.

“I remember you saying that there are no off-limits topics between our countries, so we arrived with confidence that we can expand cooperation not only in the economy but also in a number of other areas,” Min Aung Hlaing said.
