MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarus is taking its first steps to supply medical equipment to Myanmar, Belarusian Healthcare Minister Aleksandr Khodzhayev told the media following the talks between the presidents of Belarus and Myanmar in Minsk on 21 August, BelTA has learned.

According to Aleksandr Khodzhayev, agreements were signed during the recent Belarus-Myanmar Business Forum “regarding the maintenance of equipment manufactured in Belarus and slated for delivery to Myanmar.”

“Our partners have demonstrated a keen interest and are currently reviewing our equipment portfolio. We are confident that these initial steps regarding CT scanners, ambulances, and pharmaceuticals will undoubtedly yield significant benefits,” the minister said.

As previously reported, the Belarus-Myanmar Business Forum was held in Minsk on 20 August, resulting in the signing of a comprehensive package of documents. Some of them addressed cooperation within the healthcare industry. In particular, a memorandum on the supply of medical equipment and products was signed between OAO Olsa and Apex Care Co., Ltd. Furthermore, Belmedpreparaty and Medtekhnotsentr concluded memorandums of understanding with the aforementioned company.
