On Good Friday, Catholics celebrate the day on which the Jews killed Christ. It seems like an odd thing to celebrate, but the Serbs celebrate the battle of Kosovo Pole, and Texans celebrate their defeat at the Alamo, so I suppose it’s understandable that Christians would celebrate the most catastrophic defeat in the history of the human race. Let’s meditate for a moment on what it must have been like on the Friday evening after Christ’s body was taken down from the cross. Think of how devastated the Apostles must have felt gathered in the upper room full of fear that what happened to Christ would soon happen to them. Facing a cruel death of the sort that Christ suffered was bad enough, but now they knew that they would be called to die in what everyone recognized was a lost cause. They would be hunted down to die knowing that all of that talk about the love of God and the universal brotherhood of man, the kingdom of heaven in the life to come and the claim that the tyrant’s yoke had been broken—it was all nothing but an illusion, a pipe dream, eine Schnappsidee. It was all opium. Karl Marx would eventually be proven right when he claimed centuries later that religion was the opiate of the masses. The only thing that mattered in this world was brute power. Pontius Pilate finally got the answer to his question when he asked Jesus What is truth? Truth is the opinion of the powerful. Bibi Netanyahu would also be proven right. Genghis Khan was more powerful that Jesus Christ. Might makes right. End of story.

On the other side of town, the Jews gathered to celebrate their victory. Not just any Jews, not all Jews, but certainly the Jewish leaders Annas and Caiphas were there. Try to imagine the smug satisfaction on their faces and compare it to the bitter disillusionment on the faces of the apostles that night. Nothing unseemly here. No vulgar exaltation of the sort we would expect from a buffoon like Rabbi Shmuley. No, think of the most distinguished Jews you ever met, Natty Rothschild, Rabbi Stephen Wise, and their self-deprecating gestures as they congratulate each other at the moment of their greatest triumph, the day on which they killed God and proved that they belonged to the master race which stood above everything Moses forbade.

And then think about today, Good Friday 2026 at another moment of Jewish triumph when Prime Minister Netanyahu after 40 years finally got the United States to attack Iran, fulfilling the dream of his life. Think of where he is meeting now. Think of the look on his face or the face of Ben Gvir, or Bezelal Smotrich or Jonathan Greenblatt or whoever else is with him now, and you have some idea of the dramatic reversal which took place between Good Friday and first Easter Sunday, when Christ rose from the grave in triumph. You also have some understanding of why we celebrate both days.

Where is Bibi now? Hiding like a rat in a sewer under the rubble of Tel Aviv or flying around in a plane that cannot land wondering how things could have changed so quickly and dramatically. How could Tel Aviv now look like Gaza? After the Jews killed Christ, God gave them another 40 years to repent, and then he destroyed their temple. God allowed the Jews to occupy modern day Palestine for 80 years, and now he is allowing Persia to put an end to the Jewish fantasies upon which the state of Israel has been built: the idea that the nation of Israel could violate the law of Moses forever, the fantasy that the Jews could kill God and, as Moses Hess said, worship themselves and their sacred DNA in His place, the fantasy that the Jews could go on murdering innocent women and children and that God would not hear the cry of the poor because the Jews had killed God, the fantasy that they could worship Moloch with impunity by aborting their own children, the fantasy that the God they killed could not stop them.

More dangerous than any of the above fantasies is the one Jews are entertaining now: that Americans will not hold them responsible for destroying their country. Like the fantasies of Annas and Caiphas, which disappeared 2000 years ago when Christ rose from the dead, the fantasy that Americans will ignore what the Jews did to our country and not hold them accountable in very specific ways is now collapsing under a torrential rain of Persian missiles and drones. In an interview with Glenn Diesen, University of Chicago Professor John Mearsheimer claimed that America’s defeat would have serious consequences for American Jews:

Almost everyone I know believes that Israel and the Lobby led us into this war. If there’s a catastrophe there’s a great danger that people will say that the Jews are responsible for causing this war, which is simply not true because huge numbers of Jews opposed this war, and the Israel lobby is composed of Christian Zionists as well as Jews and by no means do all Jews belong to the lobby.. . . There is a real danger here that if this war goes south in a serious way . . . and people see it as a war that Israel and the lobby are principally responsible for that would cause a wave of anti-Semitism not just in the United States but outside the United States as well, and I actually think that a lot of people in the lobby as well as a lot of American Jews understand this danger. In response, Diesen muddied the waters even further by claiming that “A lot of the critics of this war are Jews, and a lot of its supporters are Christian Zionists.†He then identified those inclined to blame the Jews for the attack on Iran as “racists,†who “are rarely rational in their rhetoric.â€[2]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBOVT0UdHXg&t=2601s

In addition to being a professor of international relations, John Mearsheimer is also a nominalist who displays a typically nominalist inability to form the proper categories. Every English speaker has something like a genetic predisposition to making category mistakes, thanks to William of Ockham, who thought all universals were categories of the mind. What is a category mistake? Entire government agencies are based on category mistakes, the best example being the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Now, we all know that in Kentucky alcohol and tobacco are two of the three main food groups. If the solons in Washington had added chocolate to the first two groups, everything would have been fine, at least in Kentucky. But no, they had to make a category mistake by adding firearms. Then they added explosives, compounding their original category mistake.

This mental debility invariably shows up when discussing Jewish participation in the current war and anything the rest of the world considers bad. So, according to contemporary parlance, it is permissible—nay, laudable—to say that “the Jews†have won a disproportionate number of Nobel prizes. The term “the Jews†in this instance is a rock-solid category of reality. As soon as a note of disapproval emerges in statements like “The Jews are behind gay marriage,†or “Abortion is a Jewish sacrament,†the term “the Jews†becomes the flimsiest category of the mind and a sure indication that the person who broached that term is a raving anti-Semite.

So, in some circles at least, it is permissible to say that the Israelis are committing genocide in Gaza, but as soon as you say that those Israelis are Jews, anti-Semitism rears its ugly head, and you risk getting banned from polite company. Professor Mearsheimer blunders into this territory by refusing to see “the Jews†as a category of reality which is necessary in any discussion of America’s foreign policy and current war in Iran. The term “the Jews,†as I have said many times in discussing St. John’s use of the term “hoi Iudaioi†in his gospel, is not the same as “all Jews,†but it is a category of reality. The Catholic Church makes this clear in Nostra Aetate, which affirms that “the Jewish authorities and those who followed their lead pressed for the death of Christ; still, what happened in His passion cannot be charged against all the Jews, without distinction, then alive, nor against the Jews of today.â€

St. John’s term for “the Jewish authorities and those who followed their lead†is “hoi Iudaioi,†which gets translated into English as “the Jews.†Stating the same idea in another way, St. Paul claimed that “the Jews are the people who killed Christ†(I Thess 2:15). By using the same term as St. John, St. Paul affirms that “the Jews†constitute a political collectivity which acts in what it perceives as its political interests even when they do not have their own state. That collectivity does not include “all Jews,†which is to say, everyone born of a Jewish mother. No one ever said that the Blessed Mother pressed for her son’s death. No one ever said that the Beloved Disciple stood at the foot of the cross and shouted “Crucify him!†even though both belonged to the category “all Jews.â€

In Jesus’s time, “Jewish authorities†were known as the Sanhedrin. Today the Sanhedrin goes by a different name. It’s known the “Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations,†an “umbrella body†that “coordinates national and international policy issues,â€[3]Grok for the following organizations: the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the American Jewish Committee (AJC), the American Jewish Congress, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), J Street, a “Progressive pro-Israel organization that advocates for a two-state solution and diplomacy alongside security for Israel,†B’nai B’rith International, the Jewish Masonic lodge which has as one of its main goals the promotion of the theories of Sigmund Freud, Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist organization, and the Simon Wiesenthal Center, which is “prominent in Holocaust remembrance, fighting antisemitism, and tolerance education.â€[4]Grok

This is not an exhaustive list. It does not include de facto Jewish groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center, the American Civil Liberties Union, Pornhub, Only Fans, and the news room at National Public Radio, but it does establish the fact that “the Jews†is a category of reality which exists in real buildings at real addresses which can be sued for damages as a concrete expression of the rage that is sure to sweep over this country when its citizens wake up to the damage they have done by dragging America into a war which it cannot win.

The recent Meta lawsuits provide a legal precedent for dealing with the above organizations. In late March 2026, Meta lost a court case in New Mexico involving claims that its platforms harm children and teens through addictive design features and inadequate child safety measures and was ordered to pay $375 in fines. Meta then lost a similar case in California. According to Grok: “These back-to-back losses . . . are seen as a potential turning point in the broader social media youth harm litigation†and could be applied to Jewish run pornography sites like Pornhub and Only fans. If the courts can conclude that pornography has harmed Americans, who can now sue Meta, why can’t they draw the same conclusion about Zionism and hold AIPAC liable for billions of dollars in damages?

If Mearsheimer is right in predicting that a wave of anger will sweep America in the wake of losing the war against Iran, the proper response is channeling that anger in a way that holds “the Jews†responsible for their actions rather than pretending that “the Jews†don’t exist as a category. This denial of reality will only increase the anger and could lead to random attacks on visible Jews, namely, Orthodox groups like Neturei Carta, which is anti-Zionist. As Jacob Maze, chief rabbi in Moscow put it in 1921, “The Trotskys make the revolutions, and the Bronsteins pay the bills.†If this sort of random violence is what Professor Mearsheimer had in mind, his fears are valid, even if his categories are not. “The Jews†is not the same as “all Jews.†Yehuda Litmann, a subscriber to Culture Wars magazine and a frequent contributor to its letters column, has said he is a better Jew because of reading the articles that we publish there. We don’t need thugs beating up visible Jews because “all Jews†have become odious in the world’s eyes because of the actions of “the Jews.â€

Pretending that “the Jews†don’t exist as a category or that they didn’t get us into this mess will only make matters worse and increase the likelihood of violence. The rage continues to build. “The Jews†just announced that Israeli soldiers will not accompany the America troops which are now scheduled for a ground invasion of Iran, which is solely for the benefit of Israel. Even an establishment figure like George Will had difficulty containing his indignation when he reported this. Americans need to identify “the Jews†and hold them responsible for the irreparable damage they have done to our international reputation by ensuring that they cannot do this again. One way to accomplish this end would be to seize the assets of groups like AIPAC, the ADL, and the SPLC and distribute them as reparations payments to anyone they opposed or defamed. Is there something wrong with this idea? Is Professor Mearsheimer, the man who co-authored the definitive book on the Israel lobby, telling us that AIPAC should emerge from causing the biggest foreign policy debacle in American history unscathed?

Just as Nostra Aetate provides the necessary category for this discussion by defining (and rehabilitating) “the Jews†as a category of reality which encompasses “Jewish leaders and their followers,†Catholicism can provide guidance on how to deal with the mechanism which allowed this to happen, namely, usury and the use of usurious ill-gotten gains to bribe members of Congress. In his letter to Margaret of Flanders entitled “De regimine Judaeorum ad Ducissam Brabantiae (“On the Government of the Jews, to the Duchess of Brabantâ€), St. Thomas Aquinas give practical advice on how Margaret should deal with the severe economic problems which usury had created in her realm. The Jews have no right to keep usurious wealth, which is another term for ill-gotten gains, and does not truly belong to the Jews, but restraint needs to be exercised in appropriating this money to ensure that “the necessary subsidies of life in no way be taken from them … this seems to be what should be observed, that … the services coerced from them do not demand things that they had not been accustomed to do in times gone by.†The prince has no right to take those funds for personal gain “unless perhaps they be things that the Jews had extorted from you or from your ancestors hitherto. If, however, they have things which they extorted from others, these things, once demanded from them, you should restore to those to whom the Jews were bound to restore them. … Otherwise, these usurious monies should be set aside for pious uses according to the counsel of the diocesan bishop and of other upright men, or even for the common utility of your land if a necessity looms or the common utility demands it.â€

No one has the political power to enforce this expropriation at this moment in time. If, however, the American defeat in Iran is as catastrophic as Mearsheimer indicates it will be, that will may emerge in its wake. Ever since his election in 2025, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has aggressively pushed for higher taxes on high earners to address that city’s multi-billion-dollar budget gap. In late 2025 and early 2026, Mamdani proposed levying a 2 percentage point surcharge on New York City’s personal income tax for residents earning over $1 million annually. This enhanced income tax has been erroneously called a “wealth tax.†A true wealth tax does not tax income; it taxes wealth and can be used to expropriate usurious gains when the political will to deal with the Jewish question emerges.

Forced into a war that it did everything to avoid, Iran is now insisting that it will not return to a corrupt status quo ante. The Americans who have been forced to pay for one more war whose sole beneficiary is Israel, thanks to AIPAC and Jewish backers like the late Mr. Radvinsky, who channeled $11 million in ill-gotten gains from his porn site Only Fans into AIPAC coffers should not be forced this status quo ante either. The system of Jewish control of our Congress and culture needs to be broken up, and at this moment in time, the Iranians are the only geopolitical players who have the will and the wherewithal to accomplish this goal.

This is not the first time Iranians or Persians, as they were known then, played a crucial role in salvation history. When Belshazzar, son of Nebuchadnezzar, the man Jeremiah referred to as “the servant of God†because of the role he played in chastising an incorrigible Israel, profaned the Temple vessels to impress his retinue during their drunken revelry, a hand appeared out of nowhere and wrote on the wall of his banquet hall, “Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin,†an Aramaic phrase, which means, “You have been weighed and found wanting, and your kingdom will be divided and given to the Persians.†Daniel told Belshazzar and his father that “The Most High rules over the kingship of men (Daniel 4:14),†but Belshazzar had to learn that no earthly king is above God’s moral law the hard way by being deposed, and then blinded, and then left to meditate on his fate until he died in exile. “Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin†is not simply an ancient riddle; it is “a dramatic biblical declaration that God numbers, weighs, and divides the fates of nations and individuals according to His justice. The story of Belshazzar’s feast remains a timeless theological warning: no power, however grand, escapes divine scrutiny.â€[5]Grok.

Like Nebuchadnezzar, Donald Trump “killed whom he pleased, spared whom he pleased, promoted whom he pleased, degraded whom he pleased. But because his heart grew swollen with pride, and his spirits stiff with arrogance, he was deprived from his sovereign throne and stripped of his glory.â€[6]Daniel 5:18 Like Nebuchadnezzar, Donald Trump’s pride and arrogance became so great that they deprived him of his reason; “his heart grew completely animal; he lived with the wild assess, he fed on grass like the oxen, his body was drenched by the dew of heaven, until he had learnt that the Most High rules over the empire of men and appoints whom he pleases to rule it.â€[7]Daniel, 5:18.

Trump, as of this writing, is thinking of cutting his losses by withdrawing from the region leaving Iran in control of the Strait of Hormuz. We pray that he follows the example of Nebuchadnezzar, who finally came to his senses after a period of derangement and admitted that “the Most High rules over the kingship of men.†But he could end up like Belshazzar, the blind leader of a blind people. “Caecus dux, caici populi†is the phrase Silvio Aeneas Piccolomini, who became Pope Pius II, applied to Jan Zizka, the Hussite general. Belshazzar was literally blinded by the Chaldean king who inflicted God’s chastisement on Israel because “you have not humbled your heart. . . . You have defied the Lord of heaven.â€

Cyrus, the Persian king who defeated Belshazzar, set the Hebrew captives free and told them to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. God is now using Persia to inflict punishment on Israel. Let’s pray that the same rod will destroy the Israel Lobby and free America from its Jewish oppressors. Trump needs to heed the warnings now emanating from Tehran and abandon his faithless Jewish partners in crime, lest he end up like Belshazzar.
