Laserssel has secured an approximately 17.9 billion won equipment order from a major domestic substrate manufacturer.
The company said on July 7 that it signed a semiconductor equipment supply agreement with a "global semiconductor substrate company in Korea," according to a regulatory filing. The contract is valued at 17.9 billion won, equivalent to 38.21% of Laserssel's consolidated revenue of 4.684 billion won in 2025.
While the customer was not disclosed, the company said it is an existing client with which it has been conducting equipment introduction and technical discussions over an extended period.
A Laserssel official said the equipment to be supplied is the LSR 300 large-area laser reflow system. The order is believed to cover two units of the LSR 300 BGA model.
LSR (Laser Selective Reflow) equipment uses laser irradiation to generate heat for bonding. It employs an area laser light source to heat large-format square panels while enabling localized bonding with minimal thermal exposure and package warpage. The LSR 300 supports 300-millimeter (mm) substrates and is available in versions for ball grid array (BGA) and fan-out panel-level packaging (FOPLP) applications.
The BGA process connects semiconductor chips to printed circuit boards (PCBs) using microscopic solder balls. FOPLP is an advanced semiconductor packaging technology that uses rectangular panels instead of conventional circular wafers.
The contract runs through March 31, 2027. Laserssel will manufacture the equipment, complete installation and final acceptance by that date, and receive 50% of the contract value within 30 days of the contract's commencement. The remaining 50% will be paid within 60 days after delivery and final acceptance. The lead time for Laserssel's area-laser equipment is at least three months.
Laserssel posted consolidated revenue of approximately 1.194 billion won and an operating loss of about 1.7 billion won in the first quarter. Selling, general and administrative expenses totaled approximately 2.394 billion won, while the cost of sales ratio stood at 42.3%. Based on its current cost structure, the company is expected to require quarterly revenue of more than 4.1 billion won to return to profitability.
Including this order, Laserssel's cumulative equipment orders this year total approximately 9.765 billion won, more than double its consolidated annual revenue in 2025.
