What was once an 8-stall horse barn in Cedar Ridge has been reimagined into a vibrant center for winemaking excellence. 174 (One Seventy Four) Winery, the latest chapter for the Truckee River winemaking family (Joan, Russ and Katy Jones) has opened its new Tasting Room at 12719 Colfax HWY, Suite 3, according to a press release. 

After purchasing the historic horse property in Cedar Ridge to expand production, the family harvested and crushed its first grapes on-site in 2022. By focusing on the unique terroir of the Sierra Foothills, 174 Winery has crafted bold blends that reflect the rugged adventure of the region.

“We saw a vision as bold as our wines on this land,” says Russ Jones, founding winemaker, in the release. “Where horses once galloped, we now have a vineyard breathing life into the spirit of Truckee Family Wines. We’ve continued our tradition of barn to bottle with this new location, and we can’t wait to share that story and the wine with our neighbors.”
