Join the 2nd Annual Truckee Literary Crawl for an intimate evening with author Priya Hutner for a talk and book signing celebrating her memoir, “Chasing Nirvana: A Seeker’s Story of Love, Loss, and Liberation,” at 6 p.m. at Church of the Mountains in Truckee. 

Hutner will be joined in conversation with Blair Glaser, author of “This Incredible Longing,” for a thoughtful discussion exploring themes of belief, devotion, spiritual entrapment, and the courage it takes to reclaim one’s inner authority. 

The evening will be moderated by Katherine Hill, co-founder of the Tahoe Literary Festival and publisher of Tahoe Guide. The event is free to attend and open to everyone. Registration is encouraged. 

“Chasing Nirvana” chronicles Hutner’s years living in a cult-like spiritual community led by a charismatic female guru from Brooklyn and her difficult journey exiting the community. Glaser’s longing for awakening led her to fall under the sway of an Indian female guru.

With clarity and compassion, these authors examine the human longing for belonging and meaning, and the fine line between faith and coercion.

The event will include a reading, Q&A and book signing with Hutner and Glaser. Books from both authors will be available for purchase at the event.
