The participants introduced each other to the culture of their countries [photo report]

One of the highlights of the "Summer University" is always the evening of national hospitality. It was held on July 8 at the community centre of the UrFU Novokoltsovsky campus and brought together students from dozens of countries. 

The first part of the program was an exhibition of national cuisines: the teams prepared traditional dishes of their countries, told about the history of their appearance, cooking features and family traditions related to treats.

"For one evening, the university site turned into a cultural exchange space where participants could not only talk about the traditions of their countries, but also get to know each other's customs, music, dances and national cuisine. The main idea of the evening is to show that the diversity of cultures becomes the basis for friendship, mutual understanding and new international relations," the organizers noted.

Representatives of Armenia, Georgia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, China, Belarus, Russia, Sri Lanka, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Republika Srpska, South Africa, Jordan, Vietnam, India and Uzbekistan took the stage for a concert program. The students performed folk and modern dances, songs in their native languages, presented playing national musical instruments, theatrical sketches, poems and interactive performances. The audience supported each performance with applause, and many creative performances were accompanied by the active participation of the entire audience.

The performances of the "Marusia" folk dance group, which introduced foreign students to Russian dance culture, complemented the ambience of the celebration. The evening ended with the "Rucheyok" dance for everyone. The common dance brought together representatives of different countries, languages and cultures, becoming a symbol of the openness and friendship that underlie the UrFU Summer University.
