Participants of the SWUFE Summer School in Chengdu presented final projects, received certificates, and gained valuable international experience

In June 2026, a team of students from the Graduate School of Economics and Management (GSEM), Ural Federal University, successfully completed the International Summer School hosted by the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), China. Alongside academic activities, participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese culture and connect with students from around the world.

The program combined practice-oriented lectures, interactive workshops, and company visits. Participants explored leading Chinese businesses and learned about local business practices and corporate culture. The experience also included excursions around Chengdu and opportunities to discover the traditions and cuisine of Sichuan Province. The two-week program concluded with final project presentations and a closing ceremony. All participants successfully completed the program and received certificates recognizing their international study experience.

GSEM freshmen of the 38.03.01 International Economics and Business program, Arina Kim and Lada Brazhnikova, shared their impressions:

"SWUFE 2026 was truly special for us. It was our first experience studying abroad. We were amazed by the scale of the campus and fascinated by Chinese culture. Chengdu impressed us with its beautiful scenery, respect for traditions, and, of course, its adorable pandas. Discovering Sichuan cuisine was another highlight — hot pot and the traditional cultural performances left unforgettable memories. Thanks to the summer school, we met students from different countries and learned more about other cultures. In just ten days, we became close friends, so saying goodbye was both warm and emotional. This trip gave us new experiences, lifelong memories, and friendships that we will cherish for years to come".

Participation in the SWUFE Summer School is an important part of GSEM's international mobility activities. Such programs allow students not only to deepen their academic knowledge but also to develop intercultural competencies and global perspectives that are increasingly valuable in today's international business environment.

GSEM continues to expand cooperation with Chinese partner universities and create new opportunities for international exchanges.
