Cepin’s on Central invites parents and kids ages six-12 to explore the magic of music with a free Open House and Mini Concert event on Thursday, July 30 from 5:30-7 p.m. at 75 Central Ave. NW in Cleveland. Doors open at 5 p.m. 

This event features a “meet and greet” with Contemporary Jazz Vocalist Jermaine Purifiory, plus live music presented by Cleveland musical duo Little City Sunshine. Food and refreshments will be served. 

During the open house, kids will get to experience a variety of musical instruments and genres of music, while parents learn about the personalized music lessons available at Cepin’s on Central and Graceful Melodies. 

Andie Phillips, owner of Graceful Melodies, encourages families to introduce children to music as a creative outlet that can encourage healthy development.  

“Every child should have music as a part of their social, emotional and intellectual development,” Ms.

Phillips says. “Nothing brings me more joy than sharing the power of music with the next generation. With young learners, we teach them to embrace multiple instruments and learn to use their voice and creative expressions through music.”  

Wes Cepin, owner of Cepin’s on Central, says music is about freely exploring creative possibilities and keeping an open mind.  

“It’s important that children see music as a complete language that can communicate in many ways,” Mr. Cepin says. “Kids often find that they are capable of more than one instrument and I want to encourage them to try whatever their heart feels led to enjoy.”  

Mr. Cepin and Ms. Phillips are the two members of Little City Sunshine, and the duo will treat families to a mini-concert during the open house event.  

Guests will meet Mr. Purifory, contemporary jazz vocalist and Cleveland native, and he will share his musical journey and perform a few jazz favorites. Mr. Purifory is most notably known for being the last lead singer for the legendary soul group The Impressions for their final farewell tour throughout the U.S., London and Japan. He was also a contestant on Season Nine of American Idol. 
Today, he works as a professional singer in Nashville, which is also the city that gave him his start in the music business over 17 years ago.  A long-time vocalist for recording artists in Nashville, Mr. Purifory’s musical talent led him to stages such as Carnegie Hall, The Sydney Opera House, The Kennedy Center, The Grand Ole Opry and The Royal Albert Hall in London. He has toured 
in Ireland, Singapore, Australia, London, Japan, Paris, Switzerland, Italy, Dubai and India.
