Newcastle United have not hesitated in sending another clear transfer message to one of their Premier League rivals in their latest Adidas kit launch.

Reports that Lewis Hall had been involved in a bust-up with Eddie Howe that emerged last month were instantly dismissed to Chronicle Live after high-placed sources denied any unsavoury exchanges - as were links to Manchester United.

As Newcastle start to build a new younger squad with Sean Steur, Ewen Jaouen, Bazoumana Toure and Aladji Bamba all through the door, but United chiefs have also made it clear that no further sales are required.

As things stand, with the club's SCR situation assessed by the powers that be, Newcastle have told Howe they are under no pressure to make another big sale according to well-placed sources who have spoken to Chronicle Live.

Fringe players could still be sold, but the plan with six weeks left of the current trading period is to hold on to star names like Hall and Bruno.

Of course, if Newcastle get any bid for a player that blows the board out of the water, it would be carefully considered but cash would also be reinvested into the squad.

For now though Newcastle have not had any real bids for their stars and they are getting irked by constant gossip at the Arsenal end of the Gunners readying offers for Bruno.

The Magpies did not make any alterations on their latest kit drop, using both Bruno Guimaraes, despite being wanted by Arsenal, and Hall to model the new shirt.

Howe has made it clear that Hall is in his plans for "years to come" and has quickly got the England international settled down again for pre-season after those reports linking the left-back with Man United.

Much was made of England's decision to overlook Hall from the World Cup squad in June, but Howe threw an immediate arm around his player and said: "My reaction to that was feeling for Lewis. To support him and talk to him and help him really.

"He is an outstanding player, he is so young and he's got such a lot of his career ahead of him. You don't want it to have a negative impact. I don't think it will, I think he is very strong mentally. It was a big disappointment for him."

Howe had made his position clear on both Tino Livramento and Hall at the end of the season with both players linked with summer moves. But so far there has been no call from Man United on Hall and nothing from Man City on Livramento.

Howe said then: "The reason we signed both players when we did was for an evolution for the team and to see if they would grow into the full-back areas for us.

"They are two really talented lads who can grow and hopefully be top full-backs for Newcastle for many years, and that is still the case."

If Howe can add to his summer signings so far AND keep hold of Hall and Bruno, the window could yet be painted as a success story.
