Sienna Miller, a woman who single-handedly made the oversized belt a ‘thing’ back in the Noughties, was highlighting her fashion maverick ways once again recently when she wore an oversized slogan belt on the red carpet.

Sienna layered the belt, emblazoned with its designer’s name in gold lettering, over a see-through lace dress to the Venice Film Festival Premiere of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 – and like many components of the actress’s outfit, the accessory got tongues wagging.

While a belt with the word Chloe on it is quite hard for other brands to copy without being in seriously dodgy territory, there are other Chloe accessories that have indeed had the high street treatment this season. Step forward an eye-catching statement necklace from the autumn/winter 2024 collection, which is available to buy for £890.

The Chloé Petal necklace comes in vintage gold brass, and featured prominently on the runway alongside an array of frilled, lace and ruffled outfits. The chunky chain is set with multiple petal pendants in various sizes, with different types of hammering to create a rich texture.

We can’t help but feel that it might be the inspiration behind a similar necklace from H&M, which retails at a much more tenable price of £37.99. The necklace also features threads of hammered, gold-coloured discs cascading down the front, creating an equally dramatic finish.

One question to consider is whether such runway pieces mark the creeping return of the statement necklace? While about 15 years ago they were the most fashionable of accessories – worn with a peplum top and skinny jeans, naturally – this type of jewellery has been replaced by chains and layered pendants in recent times. However, with Chloe proving extremely influential this season, perhaps they can indeed bring the statement necklace back – we just need Sienna to don one and then it will be 100% confirmed.
