My MB has only 2 USB4 Thunderbolt ports and one of them is connected to the igpu for the second display.
So I specifically bought the Peladn Link S1 because it is advertised as having a second Thunderbolt/USB4 port that can be used as such either to daisy chain additional eGPU or for other stuff.
Turns out if you plug any USB4 / Thunderbolt device into the second port the device works, but the original dock doesn't. It is as if plugging any TB/USB4 device in disconnects the USB4 to PCIe bridge I the "dock".
The same thing happens regardless if the device is a Dell DA20U USB4 to HDMI + 5G USB A adapter or an Aoostar AG02 eGPU dock. The second device works... The first dies.
This was tried from cold boot only.
So I wonder, do I have a faulty unit or is it a case of specs promising one thing and reality being very different

Well, I guess I can respond to myself in hope it helps someone in future.
It appears if the device is plugged after power to the Peladn is applied it works. Only if you leave it in when Peladn is first powered on it doesn't work.
I wonder how many other docks have this bug.
I've only tested it with the USB to hdmi adapter for now, but I suspect it will also work with daisy chaining.
That helps me a lot, because I leave power to Peladn on most of the time.
