Chevrolet finally got around to releasing the official 2027 Corvette Order Guide for the new Grand Sport X model. While Chevrolet still doesn’t have the official GSX Configurator up, having the Order Guide should definitely help out both the interested buyer of the new AWD Corvette, as well as the sales reps who represent Chevrolet.
The Corvette Order Guide is an indispensable tool if you are buying a new Corvette and they are always being updated with the latest changes. The model-specific guides will tell you what equipment is standard or optional, its availability on Coupes and Convertible models, and whether its available in any of the three trim level groups.
As a quick aside, when ordering my E-Ray in the summer of 2024, I found an error that would have resulted in a $695 color override charge. The order guide made no reference to that, and after bringing it up to Harlan Charles, the order system was updated internally, which then corrected my order and the extra charge was removed.
As for the Grand Sport X, it’s not going to be just a rebranded E-Ray with the additional power of the new LS6 V8. There is a ton of new content on the car, plus its association with the historic Grand Sport name also brings to it the iconic heritage paint, stripes, and hashmarks.
In the months following its reveal, we have learned that the Grand Sport X will me more closely associated with the Stingray models in that it shares the same trim groups of 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. Because of that association, the Grand Sport X doesn’t get a carbon fiber steering wheel (N3W or N2Z) in the 3LT trim group, nor will it get the carbon fiber display hood (DY0) over the instrument screen. Having the Order Guide out now confirms that info.
We can also see that the E-Ray’s former (ZER) Performance Package is now being called the (FED) Sport Performance Package on the GSX. This option replaces the all-season Michelins with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S high performance tires. Speaking of performance, the (B4Z) Performance Track Management is standard across all trims and for those that might want to track their cars, the Performance Data Recorder is available on 1LT models unlike the regular Grand Sport.
The GSX Order Guide also confirms that no Z06-style carbon fiber aero packages can be ordered, despite the fact that you can order it on the regular Grand Sport model. That leaves just base deck spoiler like the E-Ray as standard, or you can upgrade to the new dealer-installed three-stanchion high wing spoiler (5ZV) in Carbon Flash. You can order the CFV/CFZ Ground Effects package as well as the new CFL Carbon Flash front splitter.
That’s the major stuff we’ve seen so far and I am sure there will be some more interesting developments to come from it. If you see anything worth mentioning, let us know in the comments below!
