More than 50 participants from Russia and around the world have begun developing international startup projects

The Graduate School of Economics and Management at UrFU has officially launched the 13th International Summer School "Doing Business in Russia: International Startup Management". This year's program brings together more than 50 students and young professionals from Russia and abroad for ten days of intensive learning, international teamwork, and startup development.

Opening the Summer School, Sergey Tushin, UrFU Vice-Rector for International Relations, highlighted the university's strong international profile.

"Today, Ural Federal University is home to more than 50,000 students, around 10 percent of whom are international. This multicultural environment makes our university a place where different cultures meet, ideas are exchanged, and international projects are born," he said.

Throughout the program, participants will attend lectures and workshops led by GSEM faculty and invited international experts, develop startup ideas in an accelerator format with faculty mentors, meet business leaders, visit companies and innovation hubs,  and take part in the business program of INNOPROM 2026, Russia's largest international industrial exhibition. The curriculum also includes project management, intercultural leadership, and international business development.

Among this year's speakers are experts from Yandex, technology entrepreneurs, startup founders, and GSEM faculty members.

The Summer School will conclude with a final startup pitch session, where international teams will present their projects to a panel of academic and industry experts.

Moreover, the participants will discover the region (a visit to the creative cluster Summer at the Factory) and try new activities (such as paddleboarding)!

The "Doing Business in Russia" Summer School is organized by International Management Master's program – one of GSEM's flagship international programs taught in English.
