The Batavia Muckdogs held off the Niagara Falls Americans 2-1 to notch their fourth straight win.Pitching dominated the night, with only one of the three runs scored coming across as earned.Batavia broke through in the sixth inning when Glenn Brooks reached on an error, allowing Evan Brock to score and giving the Muckdogs a 1-0 lead.Niagara Falls answered in the bottom of the eighth when Matthew Ganschow homered to tie the game at 1-1.The Muckdogs took the lead back for good when Kyle Vaughn reached on an error by the Americans' pitcher, allowing Myles Monell to score and put Batavia ahead 2-1.Eric Woodley closed out the final two innings for Batavia, ending the game on a groundout.Gavin Chandler started for the Muckdogs and threw seven innings, allowing four hits while striking out nine. Aiden Mroz started for Niagara Falls and pitched eight innings with five strikeouts.Woodley picked up his third win of the season, striking out one over two innings. Porter Slattery took the loss, allowing two hits in one inning of work. No saves were recorded.Nine Niagara Falls hitters had one hit apiece, led by Ganschow, who went 1 for 3 with a home run, an RBI and a run scored.Joey Socorro led Batavia's offense, going 2 for 4 with a triple. Myles Monell also went 2 for 4 and scored a run.The Muckdogs return home July 5 at 4:05 p.m. to host the Buffalo Diesel for Bark in the Park Night.
