Families have already declared it one of Greater Manchester's best parks and now it just got even better with the return of its beloved land train.
Land trains have been a key feature of Haigh Woodland Park throughout its recent history and now it's back for the summer, giving visitors - including those four legged ones - a unique ride around the estate.
Regular journeys will run between the courtyard and Plantation Gates, with the train running daily from 10.30am.
It costs £2 for a child's single ticket, or £4 return and for adults a single is £4 or £6 return.

Councillor Chris Ready, Wigan Council's cabinet portfolio holder for communities and neighbourhoods, said: “The return of the land train at Haigh Hall is something very close to my heart. As a young lad, I used the train regularly, and I am proud to say that I still live within walking distance of the hall today.
“This is something residents have been looking forward to for decades, and I know how much it means to so many people across our borough. I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to help deliver this for our residents.
“Haigh Hall is Wigan Borough's jewel in the crown, and the land train will once again help families, older residents, and visitors of all ages, enjoy everything this wonderful destination has to offer.”
Two trains will operate from 10.30am, with the last ride around 3pm. Dogs are welcome on the train, and the journey will last around 20 minutes one way. No bookings are required, visitors can purchase tickets from the driver with cash or card.
Haigh Hall and the surrounding woodland park is undergoing an exciting multi-million-pound restoration programme, funded by Wigan Council, National Lottery Heritage Fund and Levelling Up Funding.
Work is progressing across the site at the Bothy Yard which is being transformed into an outdoor, event and volunteer space.
Planning permission was granted earlier this year for the hall to be transformed into vast gallery space, an education hub, flexible events space, café, restaurant and events space as well as the addition of a rooftop bar.
There's also a miniature railway at the park, which runs on Sundays, and there's loads more to enjoy there too, including crazy golf, adventure golf, a large play area and rope adventures.
